ENGLISH BOWLS YOUTH DEVELOPMENT SCHEME NATIONAL SCHOOL
OF EXCELLENCE
Held on 28th August 2011 at Beach House Park, Worthing
BJ takes overall honours at EBYDS National Finals
Berkshire’s
BJ Byles won the overall title at the English Bowls Youth Development Scheme
(EBYDS) National Finals held on the last day of the Bowls England National
Championships in Worthing on Sunday 28th August.
The victory
completed a memorable fortnight on the Beach House Park greens for the
Desborough BC teenager, who won the National Fours Championship together
with club mates Matthew Hyde, Simon Jones and Alan Price and was a member of
the Berkshire team that narrowly lost in the final of the Middleton Cup to
Devon.
The Scheme promotes Bowls for both boys and girls, aged 10 to
18 years old with two Categories:-
* Juniors aged 10 to 14 * Seniors aged 14 to
18

The English Bowls Youth Development Scheme is a Partnership initiative
to provide a pathway for young people to develop in the sport of bowls. It
is supported by Bowls England, English Indoor Bowling Association Ltd,
English Bowls Coaching Scheme and English Bowls Umpires Association.
