COVID-19 PLAN B UPDATE
With Parliament last night voting in favour
of the Government's "Plan B" of their COVID-19 Guidance, Indoor
Bowls Clubs will now need to implement the following protocols.
Face coverings will be legally required to be worn by your members
and visitors when they enter and move around the venue. If any of
your staff have face to face contact with people, then they also
need wear a face covering and or be behind a protective screen.
The face covering can be removed when they are on the green
playing and when having a drink and or meal.
Please also be
aware some of your members / visitors due to age, health or
disability reasons are exempt from wearing face coverings. Whilst
the majority will want to show an exemption card it is not a legal
requirement to do so.
In addition, if any of your members /
staff live with or have been informed by NHS Test & Trace that they
have been in contact with someone who has been identified as a
suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 they do not need to
self-isolate but must take a Lateral Flow Test for 7 consecutive
days. If they test positive, they need to take a PCR Test and
self-isolate until the result.
If you have any members of
staff who can work from home, then you are encouraged to allow this
to happen.
We would also advise that Clubs continue to have
hand sanitisers around the venue and keep to daily cleaning
procedures.
Finally, we can confirm that Indoor Bowls Clubs
do not need to implement procedures for seeing COVID Passports and
or negative Lateral Flow Tests, before entering the premises. These
are only required, currently, for Indoor venues who will have 500 or
more people standing at one time.

This Guidance is based on the Government requirements
for "Indoor Sports Stadiums". For Clubs based in Leisure Centres or
Local Authority facilities, you will need to liaise with the
Facility Management so that you are aligned to their directives. We
would hope that the "Operators" would agree to follow the
"Indoor
Sports Stadium" guidance for ALL Users of the Indoor Bowls Facility.
Please contact our Development Manager (Stephen Rodwell)
email:
SteveRodwell@eiba.co.uk or
07831284748 to discuss any issues that you may have with your
"Operator".
These directives will remain in place for the next
six weeks, but the Government will review after three weeks and
update on the next steps.
If you wish to discuss and or need
further information, please contact the Office on 01664 481900 or
