EIBA National Competitions update
The EIBA
Board of Directors met on Wednesday 18th March to discuss plans for
the 2020-2021 Indoor Season and the affected 2019 – 2020 season.
It has agreed to the following: -
2020 – 2021 National
Competition Entries
The EIBA are planning that the 2020-21 Indoor
Season will commence as scheduled. Therefore, we will be accepting
entries for Club, County and Individual National Competitions over
the next few months, as scheduled.
Due to the entry forms being
issued in February and Clubs being temporarily or permanently closed
until the new season, we will be accepting entries via the following
options: -
a)
|
Clubs and Counties who have already
started to complete the entry forms and can access them can
proceed as instructed on the form. |
b)
|
If the Clubs and Counties can’t
access the original forms then please email Claire Edson at
claireedson@eiba.co.uk |
c)
|
Clubs who have not been able to play
their Club Singles final, can still enter the Champion of
Champions without the name. We will be allowing as much time
in September / October for Finals to be played and names
to be supplied before the first round of the event. |
d)
|
Individual members of affiliated
clubs, which are now closed, will be able to enter and pay
directly with the EIBA, by downloading the forms from the
website, and emailing them to Claire Edson at
claireedson@eiba.co.uk or post to Head Office. |
e)
|
Before the draws are published the
EIBA will liaise with all Clubs to ensure there are no
duplications of entry and that the eligibility criteria have
been met. |
f)
|
The deadline for entries was Sunday
10th May 2020 but due to the current circumstances, entries
will be accepted from now until Sunday 7th June 2020. |
2019-2020 National Finals Re-schedule
These competitions, under the assumption that we will be returning
to business as usual, will be played later this year.
The period identified is Monday 14th September to Monday 12th
October.
The allocation of specific dates for competitions along
with the venues is now being undertaken and we will be announcing
the schedule late April 2020.
2020 Summer Individual and
Fantastic Fives National Competitions
With Clubs being closed the
EIBA has taken the decision to cancel this Year's Summer National
Competitions.
These Competitions are planned to take place in
Summer 2021,
so the EIBA would offer all entrants the opportunity to carry this
year’s entry over to next. However, if they wish to request a full
refund then please email Claire Edson at
claireedson@eiba.co.uk to
start this process.
In reaching these decisions the EIBA
wishes to advise that it will be continuing to monitor the
Government’s guidance and or directives in relation to COVID-19 and
if necessary, update its Member Clubs, Counties and bowling
community.
