Newark Indoor Bowls and Boccia Club have been awarded a grant from Sport Nottinghamshire in order to further develop Bowls and the Paralympic sport of Boccia.

The grant is through the Sportivate initiative which provides funding for opportunities to increase the number of people participating in sport.

John Hope, Development Director at the club tells us. �We submitted a proposal to assist our efforts in going out to schools to demonstrate both Bowls and Boccia and are delighted that we have been successful in our bid. It will enable us to purchase a short mat allowing us to demonstrate Bowls, together with specialist children�s size bowls. In addition, we will obtain additional Boccia sets. These are really exciting times for the club and we wish to increase our junior membership in both sports. We are already in discussions with schools but welcome enquiries from others who may be interested in joining us in this project�
