JUST BOWLS - NATIONAL LOTTERY AWARDS
Just Bowl has been nominated for a National Lottery
Award.
The Bowls Development Alliance are delighted to
announce that Just Bowl has made the final 7 applicants from over 600 in the
sports category for a National Lottery Award. As of the 22nd June, the
public have the opportunity to vote for their favourite project.
Just
Bowl was developed to take the sport of Bowls out in to the community.
Engaging with Care Homes, Leisure Centres, sheltered housing & community
spaces. With portable & adaptive equipment, Just Bowl has encouraged new
participants to “have a go”!
Just Bowl has been delivered for the
last 18 months, engaging over 1700 new participants in to the sport of
Bowls. Over 600 of those are participants with a disability. This delivery
has been a key factor in our progress towards the targets set within our
Whole Sport Plan 2013-2017.
Throughout this time, the BDA have worked with
74 different organisations across 138 projects nationally, training 151 new
session leaders, who now deliver within their own places of work.
Voting is simple and can be done via telephone or online, via these details:
