The justretirement.com website has around 200 pages packed with useful information, resources and tools. It has a single aim: to help you understand as much as possible about the financial decisions you might face in retirement.

Recent statistics show that the number of people in later life who access the internet on mobile devices is on the increase. So we’ve optimised our site so that it’s easy to view across a range of devices – whether that’s a tablet, a smartphone or a computer.

Although the site’s likely to be of most benefit to those between the ages of 50–75, it contains information and guidance that’s useful and relevant to just about everyone. Don’t know your RPI from your CGT? Step this way.

Features designed with you in mind
We’re constantly adding new features to help explain some commonly misunderstood topics. For example, we’ve built in two calculators – one for longevity (which helps you plan for your future by estimating the probability of how long you might live) and one for equity release (which helps you work out how much you might be able to release from your property given a typical lifetime mortgage plan).

We’ve also developed a number of videos that help individuals navigate the difficult questions and topics regarding retirement. These include profiles of retirees, who describe their hopes and dreams, and how they are enjoying the freedom that retirement offers. And we’ve enlisted the help of financial adviser Pete Matthews to deliver helpful and practical information. He tackles topics such as the financial impact of living longer and the impact of difficult decisions such as divorce or bereavement in retirement.

We all hate jargon, and appreciate that financial services terminology can seem quite daunting. So, to help you, we’ve also created a jargon buster with a difference. We’ve taken some of the most complicated and misunderstood pieces of terminology and brought them to life in a series of bright and engaging animations. So if you’ve heard about compound interest but don’t really understand what it means, we’ll make everything crystal clear in a minute and half.

We want the site to become a valuable resource for you throughout your retirement, and one which you visit regularly. So you’ll also find sections on health and lifestyle advice, physical and emotional wellbeing, work, leisure, travel and more. In fact, the only limit to what you can learn is how much time you have on your hands. We want everyone to have a just retirement, so we hope that this site will go some way to helping achieve this.
