He was part of the
winning Worthing team against West Tarring bowls club the last time that
he played, and is living proof that playing bowls plays a part in
keeping people fit and active.
Ted has been an active sportsman all his
life, having played football for Wolves as a junior in his younger days,
and believes that he could have played as a professional, but there was
little money in the game in those days, and he was told by his father
that he must find a "Proper job" He played active tennis until he was 75
years old, at which point he decided to try his hand at bowls, and has
continued to enjoy the sport for the past 24 years as a member of
Worthing Indoor bowls club.
