Moore went on ‘We have now added another sport to the club and
it was rewarding to see so many people taking part in our first ever Boccia
tournament. The work which has taken place behind the scenes to bring this
about is fantastic and both Boccia and Bowls were prominent in our
Celebration Weekend which won Community Event.
Comunity Event of the Year Award
Steve Ayling and John Hope put in hours of work organizing this event, bringing internationals from
both sports and it is a tribute to these efforts that they both made the
short list for the Volunteer Award which John Hope won. As Treasurer I
know how important the development of the club is and the Inspired
Facilities award from Sport England which came with an upgrading grant of
£47,000 has really put the club in a strong position to progress.

hosted a pilot coaching of disabled bowlers course in conjunction with
England Bowls Alliance and Boccia England are very supportive with four
members receiving recognition with Leaders Gold Awards.
A Junior Section is our next target and we will launch that early in the New Year.
