Formed in April 2010
following the unification of the English Men's and Ladies Umpires
Associations, the EBUA is the governing body of Umpires & Markers in England
for the Sport of Bowls played on a level green both outdoors and indoors.
With the assistance of funding from the English Indoor Bowling Associaiton, the English Bowls Umpires Association have over 1000 active Officials from: EBUA Marker - who is able to mark in competitions where assessments of their work has determined that they have suitable experience and competence. EBUA Regional Umpire - who is entitled to officiate in competitions managed by local clubs, counties and other regional bodies. EBUA National Umpire - The highest qualification stage for an Umpire and is able to officiate in all events governed by the National Governing Bodies. International Umpire - The highest grade for an Umpire and is obtained by selection only.
