Bowls Development Alliance Official Press Release
Play Bowls Package Funding
The Bowls Development Alliance (BDA) are today delighted to announce, as
a result of the recent funding award secured by the BDA from Sport England,
the Play Bowls Package Funding scheme which will come into effect on 1st
April 2017 until 31st March 2021.
The Play Bowls Package, which has
been designed based on the successes of the 2013-2017 Package Scheme which
saw nearly 9,000 new people take up club memberships, aims to provide clubs
with the necessary financial and non-financial support to continue to grow
and sustain the number of people playing bowls within their facilities. £250
is available for affiliated clubs through the Play Bowls Package in addition
to a range of marketing materials, session plans and guidance notes that
will assist clubs, coaches and volunteers to deliver an effective Play Bowls
Day and Play Bowls4Fun programme. Clubs can apply for one package per year
during a package application window and is open to all affiliated Bowls
England and English Indoor Bowling Association (EIBA Ltd) clubs that have a
Coach Bowls registered or Coach Bowls Qualified coach.
The first
application window will open on Wednesday 1st February 2017 and close at 5pm
on Friday 31st March 2017.
The next window will open on Monday 3rd
July 2017 and close at 5pm on Thursday 31st August 2017.
It should be
noted that old application forms will not be accepted. New application forms
for the 2017-2021 Play Bowls Package will be available via
www.playbowls.org from Tuesday 31st
January and all applications for funding should be made via these forms.
Please note, applications will only be accepted using the new form which
will also provide additional information in relation to the package and
associated terms and conditions. The facility to apply online will remain in
place and we would encourage as many clubs as possible to submit their
application this way
If you have any queries or questions regarding
the package scheme, please contact Casey or Chris in the BDA Office on 01664
