The Bowls Development Alliance [BDA] are today celebrating the news that 1,000 more people aged 55 and over have joined bowls clubs in the last 6 months as
a direct result of BDA funded activities via our 5 county sport partnership Hot Spots, the nationwide package funding scheme and our Bring a Friend campaigns.
1,000 new bowlers represents a fantastic start to the BDA’s 2013-2017 delivery period and brings the overall number of new bowlers aged 55 and over recruited into
the sport through BDA funded events to 6,300 since the BDA began delivery in October 2010.
To celebrate the successful recruitment of 1,000 new bowlers since April, the BDA have decided to open an additional package funding window for the entirety of the
month of November! Indoor and outdoor affiliated clubs alike can apply for our Silver, Gold or Community packages at any point until 5pm on Friday 29th
November and will have 12 months from date of approval to deliver the stated events.

For clubs who are located within our Hot Spots (Active Norfolk, Active Essex, Active Sussex, Coventry, Solihull & Warwickshire Sport and Wesport) and are therefore not eligible for package funding,
financial and non-financial support is available throughout the year through your local county sport partnerships.

Finally, the BDA would like to thank, in particular, all the volunteers, coaches and clubs who have ran recruitment events and played a huge part in the securing of an
additional 1,000 new members for clubs across the country and for the sport of bowls as a whole.
